The Challenge
Pitney Bowes GES’s growth in 2018 and 2019 led to them being one of the nations largest USPS pre-sort service providers. The traditional method of pre-sorting to DDU’s was still manual putwalls, and highly labor intensive. They required an automated solution to drastically improve the PPH (pieces per hour) per associate with an overall throughput requirement around 6,000 parcels/hr. Additionally, they needed a solution that could fit in the same or less space as they were currently using with their manual process.
