EuroSort is a global organization leading designs and manufacturing of sortation material handling equipment. We are looking to expand our Engineering department. This position will encompass all product lines of EuroSort equipment.

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer I
Reports to: EuroSort Engineering Manager
Location: Owings Mills MD

Summary of Job Responsibilities:

The Mechanical Engineer will assist Project Managers, Engineers, and Director of Operations by taking responsibility for all technical aspects of projects assigned.  This includes responsibility for project related part and assembly drawings, layouts, system performance and quality while supporting Key Account Managers, Project Managers, Service Coordinator, Purchasing, and Production/Installation personnel to meet technical and schedule objectives.  The Mechanical Engineer will also help Key Account Managers in the pre-sales effort by creating best solutions for customers and making technical drawings.

A successful Mechanical Engineer will:

  • Represent EuroSort in a professional manner
  • Provide timely technical responses, concepts, and layouts to sales and project management
  • Ensure specifications are clear and achievable at the start of a project and that they are recognized during the performance of the project
  • Take ownership of technical aspects of project(s); including calculations, 3D mechanical design, following company workflows, and clearly conveying information via drawings, presentations, and on-site training sessions
  • Interface with customer’s technical counterpart to ensure expectations are aligned
  • Communicate and validate project requirements and deliveries with suppliers including sub-assembly fabrication and installation recommendations
  • Initiate cost and efficiency improvements on project designs where possible
  • Prepare and conduct internal and customer-facing mechanical design reviews
  • Assemble and test in-house prototypes, and participate in periodic installation visits to customer-sites
  • Update documentation for field changes and make sure documentation is adequate to handover project to customer and service department
  • Assist with production, installation, and service through technical advisory support


  • Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent work experience required
  • 3D modeling experience and/or training required (Solidworks Preferred)
  • AutoCAD experience preferred
  • Hands-on mechanical experience preferred
  • Team player – able to work with all departments among EuroSort, suppliers, and with Customers
  • Must be willing to travel – up to 15%
